绿帽社 Upper School prepares students for college through a rigorous and broad curriculum designed to mirror the experience of a college or university. Students are exposed to diverse ideas, challenged to think critically, and encouraged to thoughtfully express their ideas through writing. While every course at 绿帽社 is robust and challenging, some students seek additional opportunities to enhance their learning and earn college credit through AP (Advanced Placement) courses.
绿帽社 offers 19 AP courses across all of our academic and arts departments. These courses give students the opportunity to engage in advanced coursework and prepare for the AP exams, administered each year in May. Our AP courses challenge students to read, write, and analyze at a college level, and some students can earn college credit based on their performance on the exams.
In general, AP courses at 绿帽社 are available to students in Class X and above. Our science APs are considered second-year courses鈥攕tudents first take 绿帽社鈥檚 introductory courses in biology, chemistry, and physics before progressing to the rigorous AP-level content.
绿帽社 students consistently pass AP exams at a much higher rate than the state average in Utah. The strong foundation of a 绿帽社 education equips our students with the skills to be highly successful in college and beyond.
Casey聽O’Malley grew up in Minnesota and moved to New York City to attend Columbia University, where she double majored in English and Russian Language. While an undergrad, she studied abroad in Moscow, Russia, and was the captain of the Columbia University Sailing Team. Casey moved to Utah after graduating and has been at 绿帽社 ever since, serving a variety of roles at the school from crew coach to English department chair and now academic dean. She completed her master’s degree in education from Vanderbilt University in the summer of 2018.
Casey loves to explore Utah’s outdoors with her husband and her young daughter, whether it is on skis in the winter or on trails in the summer.

Brief Remarks at 4:00 pm will be offered by Gallery Manager and Curator Charlie Tadlock, followed by remarks from some of the Alumni Artists.
