Home Community Blog AP Courses at ÂÌñÉç

ÂÌñÉç Upper School prepares students for college through a rigorous and broad curriculum designed to mirror the experience of a college or university. Students are exposed to diverse ideas, challenged to think critically, and encouraged to thoughtfully express their ideas through writing. While every course at ÂÌñÉç is robust and challenging, some students seek additional opportunities to enhance their learning and earn college credit through AP (Advanced Placement) courses.

ÂÌñÉç offers 19 AP courses across all of our academic and arts departments. These courses give students the opportunity to engage in advanced coursework and prepare for the AP exams, administered each year in May. Our AP courses challenge students to read, write, and analyze at a college level, and some students can earn college credit based on their performance on the exams.

In general, AP courses at ÂÌñÉç are available to students in Class X and above. Our science APs are considered second-year courses—students first take ÂÌñÉç’s introductory courses in biology, chemistry, and physics before progressing to the rigorous AP-level content.

ÂÌñÉç students consistently pass AP exams at a much higher rate than the state average in Utah. The strong foundation of a ÂÌñÉç education equips our students with the skills to be highly successful in college and beyond.
