绿帽社 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization governed by an independent volunteer Board of Trustees. The Trustees have fiduciary, legal, and ethical responsibility for the institution鈥攕trategically planning for the long-term sustainability of The School in accordance with its mission.
Executive Committee Chair
Eric graduated from Harvard University with honors, receiving a B.A. in Economics, and holds an M.B.A. withhonors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Eric serves as the president and chief operating officerof Grandeur Peak Global Advisors. Prior to co-founding Grandeur Peak in 2011, he was vice president of Marketingand Mutual Funds at Wasatch Advisors. Eric has extensive experience in developing and implementing marketingstrategies, increasing product awareness, brand positioning, and advertising having spent twelve years in brandmanagement at Sara Lee, Kraft/Nabisco, and Campbell鈥檚. Early in his career, Eric spent three years as a middle andupper school math teacher and a basketball, golf, soccer, and lacrosse coach at 绿帽社. His own children have beenstudents at 绿帽社 since 2006.

Originally from Upstate New York, Ben studied computer science鈥攁nd, more importantly, met Claire鈥攁t Princeton. From there, Ben and Claire spent seventeen years in New York City until March 2020 finally nudged them out. They couldn鈥檛 be happier to have landed at 绿帽社 and are thrilled with the upgrades in skiing, cycling, hiking, and running conditions. Ben is a Managing Director at D. E. Shaw.

Matt has largely divided his time over the past four decades as an itinerant educator and mountain adventurer. Whileperhaps having spent too much time at high altitude, he has spent nearly 20 years as an independent school teacher,including 12 years at 绿帽社 as teacher and administrator and where all three of his stepsons attended.Matt retired from education in 2023 having spent his last 17 years as a Head of School in Utah and Washington. Hehas served on more than a dozen boards of trustees, including K-12 schools, regional education associations, andnational climbing and access organizations, as well as on four clinical medical ethics committees. Matt earned a MAfrom University of Denver in Philosophy (Ethics).

Samantha is the founder of Little Bit Barn Productions, a production company specializing in crafting and promoting compelling content across a range of platforms. Previously, she was a media and marketing executive at her own firm and before that, at Reuters. Earlier in her career, she worked as a television producer at CNBC and Bloomberg Television. She serves on the board of Ballet West. Samantha and her family moved from New York City during the pandemic and she is a proud 绿帽社 parent since 2020.

Jamie holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an M.B.A. fromHarvard Business School. Her career has been focused on technology and private equity, whereshe was most recently a Senior Vice President at Vista Equity Partners. She was the ChiefOperating Officer at People Admin, a Vista Equity Partners portfolio company, and held ValueCreation roles in the firm. Before joining Vista Equity Partners, she focused on Software andPeripherals and B2B eCommerce and Dell. After graduating from West Point, Jamie served in theUS Army, achieving the rank of Captain.

Jill Koziol is a Managing Director at Costella Kirsch, the oldest continuously active independent venture lender in the industry. Jill is also the co-founder of Motherly, a trusted brand engaging millions of mothers globally. Jill served as CEO of Motherly from its founding in 2015 through its 2023 exit to an e-commerce technology company. Before Motherly, Jill founded and exited a consumer goods company. Her background also includes 10 years of providing strategy consulting and advisory services to US defense and intelligence organizations. She holds a BA in Political Science and Economics, as well as an MA in International Security Studies, from Georgetown. Jill is a published author and sought-after speaker on topics related to entrepreneurship, leadership, brand building, and women鈥檚 empowerment. Jill guest lectures at Wharton and BYU business schools, serves as an advisor to several start-ups, and is a member of the board of YPO Park City. She also serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster youth in Utah.

Ron graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University and earned an M.B.A. with honors from Harvard Business School. After 13 years at Bain Capital, Ron co-founded Sorenson Capital in 2002, where he is Managing Partner and head of the Investment Committee. Ron has nearly three decades of investing experience and has witnessed three major economic booms and three major downturns. Ron鈥檚 educational training in engineering inspires a natural analytical outlook toward challenging issues. Ron loves the outdoors, and all that is offered therein, and is a big 绿帽社 sports fan.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Consumer Studies and Family Economics from the University of Utah and recently completed the Families in Business course at the Harvard Business School where he also completed the Owner/President Management course beginning in May 2017. Steve has worked for the Miller Group for over 24 years in various positions, including president of Miller Sports Properties (now LHMSE) and president of the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. He was instrumental in building the Tour of Utah pro cycling race which contributes over $20 million in direct economic impact to the state of Utah annually. Steve is the chair of the Futures/Strategic Planning Committee for the Utah Sports Commission and is an executive committee member of the board of trustees for the Economic Development Corporation of Utah. He is an avid outdoorsman, loves to travel, and enjoys attending U2 concerts.

David has over 35 years of experience in senior leadership roles at the intersection of marketing, business development, and corporate communications, working with Fortune 1000 clients. David鈥檚 roles at Ernst & Young (EY) have included Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Americas at Ernst & Young (EY), Chief Marketing Officer / Chief Communications Officer at EY, Head of Business Development for the Pacific Northwest Practice at EY, and Head of Business Development for Global Pursuits at EY. In late 2020, David joined the Peterson Institute for International Economics as VP for Development and External Affairs. PIIE is recognized as the world’s leading financial and Public Policy Think Tank. David serves on several not-for-profit boards, including: The National Ability Center (Board Chair); The Children’s Cross-Border Pediatric Foundation; The Peter Westbook Foundation.

Jorge Rodriguez holds an M.S. degree in technology from Columbia University, earned an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, is a graduate of Kenan-Flagler’s (UNC Chapel Hill) Master’s Advanced Management Program, and received his B.A. in molecular biology from Colgate University. Jorge is currently a Board Advisor and is the former President & CEO of Sorenson Communications, one of the world鈥檚 leading language services providers and the world鈥檚 leading provider of accessible communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people. Jorge currently serves as a Board Member at the Columbia University School of Professional Studies and is a Board Member at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Sunny is the Chief Executive Officer and Board member of Varex Imaging Corporation, and is a Supervisory Board member of MeVis Medical Solutions AG. Previously, Sunny worked in senior executive roles at McKesson Corporation, GE Healthcare, and other healthcare technology companies. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Utah chapter of National Association of Corporate Directors. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a masters in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Mumbai. Sunny has been a 绿帽社 parent since 2014 and likes to garden, cook, and travel.

Heather received her BA in Psychology from The University of Vermont, and after working in the field of Neuropsychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, earned her MD from Jefferson Medical College. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Utah, and practiced at Cottonwood Internal Medicine. In addition, she recently earned a Masters in Social Work with the goal of combining her background in medicine with mental health. Heather has been a parent at 绿帽社 since 2012.

Candice graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Political Science and received her Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Pittsburgh. Candice is a Partner at Manning Curtis Bradshaw & Bednar, PLLC where she specializes in employment law and commercial litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Candice served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable J. Thomas Greene, United States District Court for the District of Utah. Candice has served on various boards and committees within the legal community. Candice has been a 绿帽社 parent since 2015 and most recently served as the school鈥檚 Parent Association President.

Nate Walkingshaw is a passionate inventor and serial entrepreneur which started during his upper school years at 绿帽社,realizing his fellow students need for snacks, Nate negotiated and installed vending machines on campus. This entrepreneurialpassion is what drives Nate in his current role as CEO and Founder of Torus, Nate envisions a world without energy povertyand one powered, sustainably, by Mother Nature. Prior to Torus, Nate served as Chief Experience Officer of Pluralsight for sixyears. Other endeavors include founding Paramed which was acquired by Stryker in 2009, Brightface acquired by StravaCorporation and as Chief of Research at Tanner Labs. Nate is the author of the books 鈥淧roduct Leadership: How TopProduct Managers Launch Awesome Products and Build Successful Teams鈥 and 鈥淐hasing Confidence: Transforming Ideas intoImpact,鈥 One of the many awards Nate has received is Innovator of the Year by Great Places to Work.

Heather is the former Chief Marketing Officer at both Pluralsight and Domo. She was named one of 30 Women to Watch and CXO of the Year by Utah Business Magazine in 2020. Heather currently serves on the Boards of Thryv, Demandbase and ExpertVoice. She graduated with an MBA from the Wharton School and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Heather has been a parent at 绿帽社 since 2018.
