Home Community Blog Summer 2025 Internships by 绿帽社 Students

By Nikki Mathewson and Erika Munson

For over ten years, 绿帽社 students have been participating in summer internships gaining advanced practical and professional experiences across STEM fields and in the non-profit world. Some of these internships were sponsored by 绿帽社, while others were obtained independently by students. The 绿帽社-sponsored Pharmacology Internship Program successfully expanded beyond the University of Utah鈥檚 College of Pharmacy to  include labs in the Department of Chemistry, and Neurobiology.   We are in our second year of an ecology internship with the University of Utah鈥檚 Science Research Initiative and the Sageland Collaborative. We continued our long-standing partnerships with the International Rescue Committee, and added partnerships with the National Ability Center in Park City, and Braver Angels Utah. Multiple students obtained their own internships, either through the University of Utah鈥檚 College of Pharmacology or their College of Engineering Summer Research Internship.

We would like to send a huge thank you to all organizers, principal investigators, laboratory personnel, and other advisors who trained and supported our students this summer. 绿帽社, the students, and the students鈥 families all greatly appreciate the phenomenal opportunities you have provided for them. Please review the list below to see the range of experiences our students were involved in this summer.

Many of these students will be presenting their internship work and experiences at the Summer Intern Showcase on Friday September 15th from 11:40 am to 12:40 pm outside the new Miller Student Commons building on the humanities quad. Please come talk with them to learn more!
