Best book you read this summer?
This summer I finished reading The Neapolitan Quartet by Elena Ferrante. (Can a four-book series count as a novel?) The friendship between Lila and Len霉 is intense, messy, and real. Ferrante鈥檚 writing just pulls me in.

What is your favorite dessert?
Gelato, hands down. When my family is in Italy, it is understood that a day is not compelte until we’ve visited the gelateria. Even though I was in the American Southwest this summer, something about reading an epic Italian story while eating pistachio gelato felt just right.

How did you spend your summer?
I spent this summer saying goodbye to the town I’ve lived in for twenty-two years – Sedona, Arizona through visits to the creek, hikes in the red rocks, and nights under the wide-open Arizona skies. I found a grounding rhythm in my daily Pilates reformer classes. My family usually travels abroad together each summer, but this time my husband and daughter had an amazing month in Malawi, Africa while my son and I got as much as we could out of our Sedona summer.
